Troubleshooting a Bad HDMI Port

• Ensure your system is fully powered on and that you see a white light.
• Plug in the HDMI port; if there’s no picture, check the connection.
• If wiggling the cable produces changes on the TV screen, a new HDMI port is required.
• If there is no change when wiggling and the port appears fine, you might need a motherboard repair.
• Listen for any strange noises like clicks from an HDD (do not confuse these with fan noises); if present, an HDD replacement service may be needed.

How We Replace an HDMI Port on an Xbox One

Our repair process involves several precise steps:

1. Apply flux to the port area.
2. Heat up the board to 225°C.
3. Add low-melt solder to all pins and legs.
4. Easily remove the faulty port.
5. Clean the area with a high-grade solvent.
6. Remove extra solder from the legs.
7. Heat and remove the replacement port at 250°C.
8. While hot, align it with the HDMI IN pins.
9. Solder all the pins in place.
10. Add extra heat to the legs to ensure a strong joint through the motherboard hole.
